Red list countries – funded quarantine package

To help with your travel plans, we will be funding the cost of the managed quarantine hotel and test package. Currently, if you have travelled from or through a red list country in the 10 days prior to arriving in the UK, you must*:

  • Quarantine for 10 days in a managed quarantine hotel in the UK (the day you arrive in England counts as day 0) and,
  • Take a Covid-19 test on or before day 2, and on or after day 8 of quarantine.

The cost of the hotel quarantine and Covid-19 test package is £1,750 which you will need to pay prior to arriving in the UK. To find out more about which countries are on the red list, the hotel quarantine process and how to make a booking, please visit the UK Government website.  

To be reimbursed £1,750 for the quarantine package, you will be required to complete an online form once you arrive at Brunel. Further details will be available shortly.

If you are travelling from or through a red list country, we recommend that you arrive in the UK by 1 September 2021. This will allow you to complete the 10-day quarantine before arriving at Brunel ready to join our Transition Week and Welcome Week. 

Amber list countries 

Currently, if you have travelled from or through an amber list country in the 10 days prior to arriving in the UK, you must:

  • Quarantine for 10 days in the place you are staying 
  • Take a Covid-19 test on or before day 2,and on or after day 8 of quarantine.

If you have booked accommodation on campus, you can move into your room for the 10 days you are required to self-isolate. If you need to stay on campus to self-isolate prior to your licence agreement starting in September 2021, we will provide accommodation free of charge for the 10 day self- isolation period.​

We will cover the cost up to £210 of any Covid testing you are required to take on arrival in the UK, in line with Government guidance. To be reimbursed for the cost, you will be required to complete an online form once you arrive at Brunel. Further details will be available shortly.

We will supply you with a welcome box and cleaning materials on arrival. You can order meals directly from the Time2 Eat app, which will be delivered to your room on campus, and you will be able to order essential items and food from the Costcutter store via the Snappy Shopper app.

Green list countries  

If you have travelled from a country on the green list, you are not required to self-isolate on your arrival. However, before you travel you must:

  • Take a Covid-19 test  
  • Book and pay for a Covid-test to be taken 2 days after arrival in England.

Covid-19 vaccination 

The Covid-19 vaccination is being offered to everyone aged 18 or over in the UK for free, regardless of their nationality or immigration status. Once you have registered with a local GP in the UK, you can book your first and second Covid-19 vaccination if required.

Passenger locator form

Before travelling to the UK, you must also complete a Passenger Locator Form. The form must be completed 48 hours before you travel.

You will need to show your completed form when you check in to travel or board your plane, train or ferry to the UK. You may be fined if you have not completed the form by the time you reach the UK border. You also may not be allowed to enter the UK. To find out more information about the Passenger Locator Form, and to complete it before you travel to the UK, please visit the UK Government website.

Campus accommodation – term time 

All our halls of residence are on campus, so you’re never more than 10 minutes from our teaching, social and sporting facilities. You can apply for a room on campus via the Accommodation Centre Hub. If you have applied for accommodation, met the conditions of your course offer and accepted your place at Brunel, the Accommodation team will contact you by email to confirm your accommodation. We will always do our best to meet your preferences if your specific room type is available.

Campus accommodation – summer 2021 

Why not spend the summer in the capital? If you plan to travel to the UK a bit earlier, in line with the requirements of a student visa or CAS, then our London campus is well placed to take advantage of everything on offer. Accommodation ranges from £118.79 to £282.66 per week this summer. Find out more and how to book your summer accommodation. 

Registration process 

As a new student you’ll need to complete the online registration process from 2 September to be enrolled and ready to start your journey at Brunel. 

Before you begin your studies it’s compulsory to complete an online registration form through our student portal, eVision. Once you are enrolled, you’ll be able to access the systems needed to take part in your virtual Welcome Week programme. 

You will receive an email explaining how to complete the task as soon as your place at Brunel is confirmed. Online enrolment involves completing each section of the online form, confirming your payment details and agreeing to our terms and conditions.
